It is time to announce the quarterly winner of the *BeBrilliant Awards program. As ever, there has been a strong set of nominees from across the CleanMark community – making the award committee’s job an extremely difficult one. This quarter we are celebrating service. For an organization that prides itself on the dedication and commitment of its employees, we are used to receiving nominations relating to outstanding acts in the service of our customers. However, once in a while something very special comes to our attention.

With that in mind, we’re delighted to bestow this quarter’s award on a crew who have redefined the term “going the extra mile” – in fact, it’s more like going the extra 340 miles (or 546 km in Canada!).

*BeBrilliant Quarterly Award Winner: Theresa Ward and team

Please join us in congratulating Theresa Ward and her team – Rejane Griffiths, Angie Scott and Jacob Tapp Hatch – who work in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The team were chosen enthusiastically and resoundingly by the Awards panel for their outstanding conduct.

We’d like to share their incredible, inspiring story – which stands as a testament to their incredible passion and commitment to service excellence – in aiding a customer at a time when their remote site made it hard to employ the facility management support they desperately needed.

The site in question is situated in Edmundston in northern New Brunswick. It is also happens to be a four hour drive on Highway 2 from Fredericton. With a population of just over 16,000 people, its remote nature means it also plays host to some of the most inclement weather in Canada.

Incredibly, every weekend, for a period of 3 months this winter, Theresa and one of her team would make a 546 km round trip to clean the site in question – weathering snowstorms and floods as well as dodging bears and the odd moose.

At the end of the weekend, they would arrive home from their gruelling trek at around midnight and still be up early to deliver a fantastic service to their Fredericton customers the next morning.

Theresa and her team not only put the needs of the customer first, they did so at the expense of their valuable personal time – never failing to meet their commitment, even if the weather conditions were harsh and the roads dangerous.

While CleanMark’s HR department have worked hard to find an excellent local team who have now taken over the site’s duties, the continued success of the customer relationship lies in no small measure to Theresa and her fantastic crew.

Recognising Brilliance
In addition to the respect and admiration of the senior management team, clients, colleagues and the whole of the CleanMark community, Theresa, Rejane, Angie and Jacob will be receiving a well-deserved $100 in recognition of his award.
