In these unprecedented times, it gives us an immense amount of pride and pleasure to announce the winners of June’s *BeBrilliant Awards program. Before we do that, we would like to extend a huge heartfelt thank you to all CleanMark employees. As valued members of the CleanMark community, you are on the front line of the battle against coronavirus, often working overnight and weekends to deep clean sites that are either open and in need of extra cleaning support, or transitioning back to work. We want to take this opportunity to recognize all of you – for your diligence, your hard work and your commitment to making things healthier and safer for everyone in North America. Coronavirus may have changed all our lives, but one thing that has remained constant throughout is the brilliance of CleanMark’s staff.

*BeBrilliant Award Winners June 2020:
Doran Johnson, Beverly Gamester and Steve Lawton

Doran Johnson, Beverly Gamester and Steve Lawton provide service to the GoodLife Fitness Centre, in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island (PEI). We’d like to share the story that led to their well-deserved award.

The GoodLife Fitness Centre in question was the first site in its portfolio to be reopened in Canada following the coronavirus lockdown. Scheduled to open its doors to the public on 15 June, the need for a smooth, efficient and safe opening was of critical importance to the individual site, as well as to GoodLife.

Responsible for overseeing the pre-opening deep clean, Territory Manager Theresa Ward was scheduled to work with Doran, Beverly and Steve on the weekend prior to the Monday opening. Unfortunately, CleanMark’s application for Theresa to cross Confederation Bridge into PEI on 12 June was unsuccessful. Despite having extensive paperwork, Theresa was turned back at the bridge due to coronavirus legislation.

Indicative of the commitment and collaborative spirit found across CleanMark, Doran, Beverly and Steve pulled together; and with remote help from Theresa and Sophia Harris, Regional Vice President Eastern Canada, they successfully delivered the scope of work.

Working over the phone, and electronically, they took exceptional pride in their work and ensured that every part of the fitness centre was wiped, sanitized, and disinfected. Throughout the process, our GoodLife partners were kept informed of the team’s progress and were delighted with the result. The crew delivered an outstanding outcome for the site – which was COVID-19 compliant and ready to receive the public on schedule.

“The reopening of GoodLife on the island of PEI was a great success and we are all exceptionally proud of this team,” remarked Sophia Harris. “Overcoming adversity in these difficult times took a commitment and willingness to go the extra mile that truly sets Doran, Beverly and Steve apart.”
